How To Dress For Work When It is So HOT
Are you having trouble dressing professionally in the summer
heat? Sometimes when the weather heats up professional
dressing is thrown out the door and casual dressing in walks.
Casual dressing is fine for a casual environment but not a
professional environment. It is possible to dress professionally
and remain cool. Here are a few hints to keep your credibility
and still look and feel summery.
1. If the temperature inside is warm wear fabrics that
are lightweight and light in color. When you are working in an
air-conditioned office layering is a wise choice. Wear a jacket
or sweater with a suitable top underneath to adjust to temperature
changes. One of those changes will be when you leave the
office to face the outside heat.
2. Wear a top that has short sleeves but do not wear
a sleeveless top in a professional environment.
3. Always wear hose keeping the parts of your legs
that are showing covered. If it is hot inside wear a long skirt
with knee-highs to keep a little cooler. Resist the urge to wear
sandals, capri pants, short skirts or plunging necklines.
Summer or not, showing bare skin is not suitable in an office
environment.
4. Skirts are cooler than pants and are a good choice
for summer. Buy them in light fabrics and colors and wear them
with tops in a light fabric.
5. Wear shoes that have the toes closed in - pumps, sling
backs or mules.
When dressing for the business environment keep the attention on
your work by dressing appropriately for your audience.
