Are You Caught In Any Of These Fashion Traps?
Did you know that a simple fashion mistake could ruin your
whole look? It's true. A simple mistake like the wrong shoes,
handbag or hose can ruin an otherwise great look. Fashion
mistakes really do affect how others see you. We are judged
every day on how we look. It is common for people to think
(sometimes unconsciously) that if you don't know the simple
rules of choosing the right shoes, pants, hose or accessories,
then maybe there is a lot more you don't know.
Credibility is very important in business when you want to
get hired or promoted. As an entrepreneur, your business
depends on it - you represent what you are promoting or
selling. Being well dressed is also important if you are looking
for a new partner. For example, a woman who is looking for
a good looking, well-dressed, intelligent man, (and lets face it,
nobody looks for a frumpy, disheveled man) won't be noticed
by him if she hasn't taken the time to be equally sophisticated.
If you are wondering if you are well dressed ask yourself these
questions. How often do I get complimented on how I look? If
you haven't been complimented lately you should rethink your
look. Do you know why what you're wearing goes together, and
why it looks good? If you don't know the whys of what you're
wearing, does it really go together? Do men notice you? If you
look good men will notice and it doesn't matter if you're
beautiful.
Are you guilty of any of the following fashion traps?
When I lose weight I will dress well
If you are waiting to lose weight to buy the right clothes you
are most likely wearing baggy clothing that hide the pounds
that also makes your figure look boxy, round and larger.
Size doesn't matter; no matter how large you are you can still
look terrific. There are lots of plus size women who look great
because they feel good about themselves and dress well. If you
are losing weight you don't have to wear frumpy styles and feel
ten times worse. Investing in a few flattering styles and looking
good while you are losing weight will encourage you to stick to
your diet routine.
Nobody Really Cares How I Look
I've heard women say, ' This is how I dress and look and if people
(or men) don't like it, too bad.' Well, it is they who will pay the
price. When customers, future mates, employers, potential
friends, have a choice (and they do) they will choose to work
with, our befriend those who show that they take pride in themselves
by investing in their appearance. You create the first impression
by how you look, your credentials, personality and skills are
discovered after the first impression has been made.
If you hired a plumber and he showed up dressed in business
casual how much confidence would you have in him to install
your plumbing? Would you hire an accountant whose clothes
looked disorganized or a lawyer who had papers hanging out
]of his briefcase and wrinkled clothing? The point is that you
don't have to be dressed like a show room model, but to gain
respect and credibility you must dress like you have put some
time and effort into it.
I'll wear theses shoes because they're my favorite
It can be any clothing item, a skirt, top or pants, but if you are
unaware of whether or not the garment or accessory is appropriate
and choose them simply out of habit then, one tiny item could be
destroying your whole look. Think of the woman who is dressed
for a formal evening (she has bought the perfect dress) only to
discover that she owns only one pair of heels. Whether or not
those heels match her outfit will make or break her whole look.
If you haven't been getting compliments, and you feel your look
could you a touch up, take some time and invest in your
appearance. You'll be noticed.
